He sneered. “Okay, calculated and cunning. Finally, a description I like.”
“The Miami-Dade sex crimes unit is continuing to work on this case and the police cannot urge strongly enough that all women need to be careful at all times. This is Jackie Shoop reporting live from Miami.”
“That’s it? That’s all I get?” he shrieked. “Just a five-minute spot on the local report? It was much more fun making the national evening news.”
Picking up his half-filled bottle of beer, he angrily heaved it against the wall across the room. The glass shattered instantly, and he raced over to inspect the shards along with the obvious dent left in the drywall.
“Fuck! Now I’m going have to spend the rest of my night cleaning this shit up.” Grabbing his head in frustration, he began pulling at his short, coarse hair. “Why in the hell would that cunty reporter stand in front of the Eden Roc Hotel? Out of all the events I’m responsible for, not one of them happened there.”
And then he stood still, his eyes darting. With a strange expression on his face, he strode back to his bedroom, opened the closet door, and began to rummage through his clothing. “Ooh, Lieutenant Geraci. I do believe you’re trying to reel me in. And I’d love nothing better than to play your little game.”
Chapter Eight
“What do you think you’re doing?”
Her heart beat furiously as she looked up to discover Andy casually leaning up against the open door that connected their rooms. His arms were crossed, his expression was stern, and it only took a second for her to see that he was glaring at a small bottle of lube on her end table. Removing her wet fingers from her trembling pussy, she felt her face radiate with heat as her clit continued to pulse. “You were working on your laptop, and I didn’t want to be a bother.”
“I did see your bottle of lube the other day, but didn’t want to ask what it was doing on the nightstand,” he said, rubbing the back of his neck. “I should’ve known better and confiscated it.”
Her grin was lopsided as she fidgeted under the sheet. “Come on. It helps to relax me. Working as a detective all day is a tough job.”
“Uh-huh. But now that I’m your man, there shouldn’t be a need to pleasure yourself. That’s for me to do.”
Ashley contemplated his words as her chin dropped. “You’re right. I wasn’t thinking clearly. I’ll try to behave myself from now on.”
“Well, I should probably make sure of that.” He walked toward her, pulled the sheet back, and rolled his girl over before landing a well-placed swat to her naked backside. “I administered a good hard spanking onto your bottom for the way you spoke to Dan in the lobby, but it seems you’re craving more discipline. Maybe it’s time to stretch that tight little rosebud of yours. Do you think that might help you to think with a bit more clarity?”
She swallowed nervously, watching him reach into her night table to pull a shiny object out of the drawer. “When did you put that in there?” Though she could feel the butterflies of trepidation whirl in her stomach, Ashley loved his sexy dominance and her pussy was already wet at the sound of his strict, velvety tone.
His voice was husky and serious. “That’s not for you to worry about. Eyes forward, missy, while I lubricate your little bottom hole. Trust me, you’ll be happy for the extra lubrication.”
Just hearing him talk about her intimate parts was enough to make her face blush with embarrassment. But when he quickly moved behind her and raised her hips into position with both hands, Ashley’s humiliation quickly turned to apprehension as she remembered seeing an implement like that in a catalog once. The next sound to be heard was of a plastic top noisily clicking open and she loudly groaned in anticipation of what was to come. “Jesus. That thing will never fit inside me.” But as her short sentence ended, his thick, wet finger slowly rubbed and teased her smooth rear entrance. She tried to keep from whimpering and squirming, knowing that it would probably earn her several smacks on her delicate behind. But she couldn’t stop herself. And he was just getting started.
Instantly, Andy delivered a brisk slap to her rear end as he continued their conversation in an authoritative tone. “Be still, young lady, while I prepare you,” he said, seductively pressing his finger into her quivering tight rosebud, delving his digit a little deeper than usual.
As Ashley jerked herself upright, he removed his finger and firmly squeezed her supple buttock. “Get back into position, please.”
“Is this your idea of a joke?”
“We both know that I lack in the sense of humor department, so be quiet and behave,” he directed, lowering her shoulders to the mattress before raising her hips in the air. “I’m going to insert this instrument into your snug, sweet bottom, and there it will stay for now. I think squirming with this inside your ass might help you to remember the rules.” Then he paused for a moment to let his girlfriend reflect on her thoughts. “Now, be good and keep your rear end up high so those adorable cheeks spread naturally for me.” After generously lubing the shiny butt plug, he touched the cool, steely tip to her warm, smooth rosette before gently pushing it in between her pillow-soft mounds.
“I can’t believe you’re doing this. I’ll never be able to sleep with that thing up my ass,” she said, craning her neck to catch a glimpse of his expression.
“Face forward, Ashley Elizabeth.”
“Jesus. Did I just see the corners of your mouth twitch? You really are enjoying this, aren’t you?”
“This is another reminder to control yourself tomorrow. Now, I need you to focus, my sweet girl. I want this deep inside you,” he said in a calm, gentle voice while keeping a steady hand on her back.
Squeezing her eyes shut, she finally relented and blew out a dramatic breath as the cool steel implement stretched and burned, moving through the narrowed, dark channel until her body accepted it. “You’re insane.”
He swatted each buttock with the palm of his hand before guiding her off the bed. “Uh-huh. I might be. But you are my girl, and my girl will learn to follow my rules.” His tone was deceivingly light as he gently twisted and secured the rigid tool in her tight anus.
She shuddered as the strange mixture of pain and desire surged throughout her body. “Do you really expect me to sleep with this thing inside me?”
He inclined his head slowly toward hers. “It seems you can’t be given enough reminders to behave, Ashley.”
“I have a bad memory, Andy.”
“You have a selective memory, young lady,” he gently corrected, landing a sharp slap onto her naked ass, which just so happened to be filled with a hard instrument.
“Come on, that hurt!”
He rubbed her backside and responded with a heavy sigh. “I know there are a lot of rules for you to get used to, so maybe we should get a few things straightened out while I have your bare bottom under my firm hand.”
She lowered her face, but then turned her neck so their eyes could meet. She knew his lecture was nowhere near over.
“There is only one person who is permitted to touch your delicate pussy. Yes or no?”
“Yes.”
“And who is that person?”
“You are.”
“Sir,” he corrected.
“You are, sir.”
“And in this relationship, only one person is charge of your orgasms. Agree or disagree?”
Her eyes lowered. “Agree.”
“Ahh, good answer. And who is this person?”
“It’s you, sir.”
He took her by the waist, hauled her across his knee, and draped one leg over hers.
“Please! I get it. Why are you doing this? You’ve already punished me!”
But he ignored her pleas, applying hard swats to the lower portion of both hind cheeks and then landed one in each of the delicate areas where her thigh and ass joined together. “I want this bottom tender inside and out when you go to sleep tonight. Maybe that way, when you wake up in the morning, you’ll
be better behaved than you were today.”
“I’ll behave. I promise!” she shrieked, her fists clenched into balls, pounding on the stiff mattress.
“Good. Because the next time your adorable red ass is up in the air, it’ll be my hot cock burrowing inside it, instead of a steel instrument. And I think you’ve been stretched enough for that day to finally come.”
“Are you kidding? You’ll never fit in there.”
“I think you also said the same thing about this plug,” he deadpanned, his voice soft and steady as he tugged on the tool before rolling her over to face him.
Though she pursed her lips and shrugged nonchalantly, the movement of the implement caused her head to whirl with embarrassment as her pussy twitched with excitement. But she wasn’t about to share that bit of information. “I should know better than to question you when you’re in a bossy mood.”
“In case you haven’t noticed, I’m usually in that state of mind.”
“This lecture isn’t finished, is it? You’re about to say something else, aren’t you?” she asked, the muscles in her bottom contracting around the invading device.
His smile was mischievous as his eyes gazed into hers. “My cock will nestle inside your shivering tunnel like a hand fits in a glove. And I have a feeling that day will come soon, my dear. Very soon.”
Chapter Nine
Christy Malin, a short blonde with an athletic body appearing to be in her early twenties, dropped her chin to her chest.
“I need you to tell me exactly what happened,” Detective Teddy Laredo of the Miami-Dade police department said in a calm voice.
“He grabbed me from behind when I put my key in the door. Then he shoved me into my apartment and threw me on the floor.”
“Were you able to see what he looked like?”
Nervously, she wrapped her arms around her body and peered up into the detective’s concerned deep-set eyes. “I think he’s the man you’ve been looking for. He had a black ski mask pulled over his head and wore army camo pants.”
“Before you continue, I’m going to bring in another detective to hear this. Sit tight and I’ll be right back.” Detective Laredo exited the room and walked around the other side of the one-way mirror. “What do you think, Lieutenant?”
Andy Geraci crossed his arms and looked at the victim through the window. “Has she been to the hospital?”
“Yeah. The same one she works in, and her apartment is being swept for DNA evidence. But so far, there’s nothing concrete for us to go on.”
Andy nodded as he straightened his black tie. “I’ll come in and talk with her. Maybe a fresh face will help her to remember some details.”
Detective Laredo followed close behind as they both walked back into the small interview room.
“Ms. Malin, can we call you Christy?” Andy asked with a softness in his tone.
Still quite shaken, her head raised as she quivered. “Sure.”
“Christy, I’m Lieutenant Geraci. We can only imagine how difficult this night has been for you, but I’d like you to concentrate on a few details while they’re still fresh in your mind. Are you alright with that?”
Christy’s head fell forward as she nodded.
“Is there anything we can get for you before we start? Would you like a bottle of water or a can of ginger ale?”
“No, I’m okay.”
Andy sat down next to her and folded his hands. “Can you tell us what happened tonight?”
She dabbed her eyes with a tissue and nervously secured a short strand of hair behind her ears. “It was around seven-thirty in the morning, and I’d just driven home from working an evening shift at the hospital.”
“Do you always come home alone?”
“Yes. I work from eleven to seven as a nurse in the emergency room.” She shuffled for a moment in her seat, obviously not wanting to rehash the events.
Andy’s voice was gentle and his tone even. “I’m sure this is difficult, so take your time. Do you live alone?”
“Yes, and I always lock my door…”
“Do you generally come home from work at the same time in the morning?”
She nodded nervously. “I’m usually tired after a shift, and last night we were extremely busy.”
“I know a few people at the hospital heard the details of your story, but can you retell it to me?”
“Like I told both my head nurse and the detective, after I unlocked the door, a man grabbed me from behind and shoved me into my apartment.”
Andy bobbed his head. “Go on.”
“I tried to get free from him, but he was much stronger and threw me onto the floor in the living room face down. That’s when I saw the knife in his hand, and he told me not to scream or fight. He said if I did, he’d kill me.”
“What I’m hearing is that he grabbed you from behind and told you not to move while you were on the floor. Is that correct?”
“Yes,” she said with a quick nod.
“So, did you have an opportunity to see his face? When was it that you had a good view of him?”
“He told me to stay quiet until I was sure that he was gone. After I heard him rummaging around in my bedroom, I did what he told me to do. But then I sensed that he was walking past me in the living room, and my head just automatically popped up. That’s when I saw him walk out the door. I never saw his face.”
“Do you remember what he looked like from the back? Could you see what he was wearing?”
She nodded. “There was a black hood over his head and he was wearing baggy camouflage army-type pants. I’m sorry my description isn’t better, but I was afraid to move until he was gone.”
“I understand completely, and you did the right thing,” Andy said in a quiet tone. “You said he spent some time rummaging around in your bedroom. Did you notice if anything was gone?”
“He stole my checkbook and some cash from the drawer. I don’t keep much in there, and I’m not sure how much he took. Maybe fifty bucks.”
Teddy and Andy sat silent for a moment and then threw each other a sideways glance.
“After he closed the door, I gave him a few minutes to make sure he was gone. And then I grabbed my cellphone and dialed 911.”
Andy pushed his chair backward and stood before extending his hand to her. “We know this has been a difficult day and really appreciate you coming to talk with us. I believe your boyfriend is waiting in the hall to take you home.”
She stood and took his large hand in her shaky one. “You need to stop that monster, Lieutenant. Before he does this to someone else.”
Chapter Ten
Andy made himself comfortable on a black-padded stool right in front of the young muscular man who was standing behind the granite counter. Happy hour was just about to begin in the luxury hotel when the bartender wiped the top of the dark, finished surface and leaned forward.
“What’ll it be tonight?”
“I’ll have a Jack Daniel’s on the rocks, please.”
“You seem a little stressed, Santa,” the fair-haired man observed, pouring him two fingers of the amber liquid.
“It’s been a rough start of the week, professionally speaking.” Andy nodded as he took the glass from the bartender and chuckled. “I can’t believe you recognized me out of the red suit,” he joked.
Dan sat next to him and interrupted their conversation with one finger in the air. “I’ll have a Heineken, please.”
“You thought it would be easy taking pictures of kids all day, right?” Andy asked him nonchalantly, tipping his glass forward to take a large sip.
“Uh-huh. But I’d rather talk about the NYPD star profiler that was recently added to our team. How are things going with you two?”
“I couldn’t be happier with Ashley. My biggest concern right now is that this damn maniac has attacked again.” Andy swirled the ice in his glass before taking another mouthful. “The mayor and commissioner are crawling all ove
r my ass demanding results and we still have nothing! First thing tomorrow, we need to comb through the lobby tapes. Did anything out of the ordinary pop out at you today?”
“Not really, but I’m getting the feelin’ that your new girlfriend doesn’t like me. What’s with her, anyway?”
Andy picked up his drink and drained the contents before tilting the empty glass in the bartender’s direction. “Ashley has a theory about this being an inside job.”
“Wait a minute. Was that the reason for the mini interrogation she performed on me yesterday? Your girl certainly didn’t seem pleased that I was a part of this covert operation.”
“She thinks our perp is too good at not leaving any evidence. And according to his victims, he does have a Southern accent…”
Dan released a good-natured chuckle. “Come on, do you have any idea how many people livin’ in Florida are originally from the deep south? What about the doorman and the concierge? They both have some pretty heavy drawls—has she accused either of them?” he asked before taking two large gulps of beer.
“No. She seems to be fixated on our squad, and since you are sporting a heavy Southern accent…”
He shook his head. “Jesus. I don’t believe this.”
“Look, I’m sorry she was rude to you yesterday, and I’ve spoken to her about it.” Nodding his head in thanks to the bartender, Andy exchanged his empty glass for a full one.
“So, how long do you think she’ll beat this dead horse?” Dan raised the Heineken to his lips and took another swallow.
“Well, we had another attack yesterday. And you were a bit late for work…”
His brow creased as he put the bottle down on the bar ledge. “I told you why I was late.”
“I know. I know. You went for a run, and lost track of time.”
“Are we just makin’ conversation?” he asked, swerving his neck to face him, “or is your new girl putting lame ideas in your brain?”
“She does make a good point about our perp not leaving any evidence.” Shaking his head, he drummed large strong fingers on the wooden bar ledge. “You know the more I think about this monster, the more I’m convinced that he’s either working in or living close to this hotel. Starting tomorrow, I’m going to bring Teddy in to interview all the employees.”
